I am Giorgio Mallia, and for over 70 years, my family has been the guardian of a winemaking tradition rooted in the picturesque Contrada Maccari, in the heart of Sicily. Our story begins with a dream: to pass on the authenticity of our land through the production of excellent wines. I consider myself the heir to this passion, and today I lead the company while keeping alive the commitment to quality and respect for nature that have always distinguished our family. Our vineyards are not just fields of cultivation; they are places filled with memories and dedication, where every row of vines tells the story of generations of hard work.

The mission of the Mallia family is to merge tradition with innovation while remaining faithful to our deep connection with the Sicilian land.

THE PRODUCTS

We are custodians of ancient winemaking traditions, and we love to present our wines this way:
Nero d’Avola
Nero d’Avola boasts a complex bouquet of ripe fruits, sweet spices, and a hint of vanilla, thanks to careful aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with silky tannins and a persistent finish that recalls the warm and generous land from which it originates.
Bianco Grillo
Grillo stands out for its intense aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers, and a subtle herbal note. On the palate, it offers a soft structure and a pleasant acidity reminiscent of the sea breeze along the Sicilian coast.
Rosato di Terra Mallia
An extraordinarily refined rosé, obtained through a meticulous selection of native grapes. On the nose, it opens with fresh red fruit aromas, such as wild strawberries and cherries, accompanied by a delicate floral hint.

THE TERRITORY

As you may know, our town, Noto, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its rich historical heritage linked to Baroque architecture. We are located in the hills, yet the scents of the Mediterranean Sea still reach us.

However, Noto is not just architecture—our lands are fertile and generous, offering a variety of wild fruits that alternate with green carpets stretching to the horizon, where our vineyards flourish. It is a mosaic of colors, where ancient olive trees, almond trees, and the deep orange of Sicilian citrus fruits blend together.

PAIRINGS

Our Pairing Suggestions.
With its fresh and lively character, Bianco Grillo is the perfect companion for the flavors of the sea. It pairs gracefully with the delicacy of raw seafood, the creaminess of a lemon and prawn risotto, or the simplicity of an octopus salad, enhancing every flavor without overpowering it.
Rosato di Terra Mallia is ideal for convivial evenings. It pairs wonderfully with dishes rich in color and flavor—such as a warm caponata scented with fresh basil—but it is also the perfect companion for fresh cheeses and traditional Sicilian cured meats, like salted ricotta or swordfish mortadella.
Nero d’Avola is a robust and enveloping wine that pairs well with rich and hearty dishes, such as oven-roasted lamb with aromatic herbs, where the bold flavor of the meat finds its perfect counterpart in the wine’s structure. It also goes beautifully with pasta alla Norma, where eggplant, salted ricotta, and tomato come together in perfect harmony.

LOCAL CUISINE

There is a dish we truly love—a triumph of colors and flavors that tells the story of a land rich in tradition and contrasting cultural influences: Sicilian Caponata.

Our dish combines the sweetness of fried eggplant with the vibrancy of vinegar and the unmistakable touch of capers and olives. Each ingredient, deeply rooted in Mediterranean cuisine, is an ode to the generosity of the Sicilian land. We serve it both warm and cold, but always accompanied by a generous glass of wine—like a sip of sunshine.

Caponata is the beating heart of Sicilian cuisine, a dish that evokes the warmth of Sicilian summers and the embrace of conviviality—symbolizing a culture that knows how to celebrate the simplicity of its most authentic flavors.
